Why did I make this?

For as long as I can remember, I have relentlessly been searching for a way to not only feel some sort of fulfillment in my life through my actions, but also more importantly figure out a way to give back to those who have supported me and had my back.

How can I give back to the people who have shown me kindness? And how can I grow from there and make use of what I have learned from people?

At first, I wanted to do something in music… But that wasn’t enough. Besides, music isn’t the entirety of who I am. Then I thought of just tapping into Facebook and using my reach there, but Facebook in and of itself is limiting. You can only grow as much as Facebook allows you to (not that they actually limit growth, but for the sake of this thought process just go with me).

I want to create and establish something that is unrestricted and free.

So here we are, I guess I am sort of… becoming a blogger. No, actually, more like I am trying to become a platform that I can use to express myself. To essentially have that platform be a vessel for free, unhinged, collaborative engaging thoughts and discussions (and more!?). Whatever we want it to be.

I kind of want to be someone who has a voice in this world. I want to make a difference in the world whilst at the same time providing a platform for my friends and family to channel themselves through.

I know for a fact I don’t have all the answers and I know I’ll need help. I know I need each and every one of you that has believed in something like this.

No matter where this goes, I’m going to keep searching and I know this is only a stepping stone.

In the end…

This is for you & me.

Change & Awareness

One of the keys to successfully making changes is to understand that NOTHING comes easy and that in order to get to a point where you envision yourself, you have to put in the energy to actually get there and trust the process…

Humans are habitual & social creatures… Don’t let your sense of self ( consciousness ) allow you to forget that we ARE animals… We need connection w/ others so don’t be an asshole, treat others how you’d like to be treated. We must form habits to adopt a new way of life.
Personally, I’m tired of feeling empty and feeling dead inside… I’ve lost my passion in life and I just go through the motions in my lifetime.. It’s so boring and unsatisfying… It’s no wonder I used to spend so much time numbing myself w/ anything just to feel something.

Consciousness leads to awareness and this awareness can be used by us to develop a strategy to organize a plan to get to where we want to be… We need to brainstorm and have a blueprint. You need to plan… You think all the people you look up to didn’t feel like you did, right now?

Our minds work autonomously from our consciousness… Most of the things we need to do to simply be alive right now is all done behind the scenes. That’s why so many people argue about the existence of free will but those camps overlook the fact that it could be both.

Think of it this way: Our entire being is a paddle boat 🚣‍♀️ in this infinite ocean 🌊 where other life exists, our consciousness is the oar, it’s a tool more or less… The oar gives you the illusion that you are in control of the boat A.K.A. your entire being, but you’re not…

Consciousness (in my mind), the oar, serves as a way to direct yourself in life… Because you can’t just say fuck it and throw away the oar and expect the boat to perform how you’d want it to, it won’t! It’ll keep going as will your body… Use your consciousness in tandem with all that you learn.

Notice your habits, tendencies, thoughts, patterns and then once you develop an understanding of yourself, then you can learn/adapt (adaptation is SUPER IMPORTANT) different ways to steer yourself in life, the ocean 🌊, and if you fall off the path you’ve outlined, you’ll notice.

House Music: Night Bae Edition

A lot of people talk down on the 4×4, boots n’ cats, “repetitive”, yet timeless genre that is house music. Ironically enough, prior to falling in love with house music I was super into trap, bass & future bass and would never consider going to a house show myself .

I had been listening to some house music here and there, but It wasn’t until June of 2016 when AC Slater came to San Francisco as a part of Summer Moon Phases Tour came to Luv + Propaganda that it became a part of who I am. What drew me to Night Bass so much was how the incorporated those deep bass lines into house music, which was something I personally hadn’t heard in house music yet (though I’m sure it was out there). Something about the Night Bass label just drew me in and their whole movement was something I just instantaneously clicked with. I ended up meeting AC Slater that night before he went on and he was one of the most down to earth and laid-back human beings ever. I remember thinking to myself, “wait this is really the artist? He’s super chill and treats nearly everyone like he’s known them for quite some time”.

AC Slater did not disappoint, he delivered one of the best sets and I completely was entranced by the kind of house music he and his homies were presenting. From that point forward, Night Bass was everything to me and I went through the entire team from Chris Lorenzo, to Taiki NuLight, to Sinden, to Petey Clicks and more. I was all about Night Bass and would attend every show in the area and I even drove down in August to attend their OWSLA x Night Bass collab bbq where I met Aaron, AC Slater, again and was on a party bus with him heading to the club to attend his infamous Night Bass Thursday’s he held every month at Sound in LA.

Since then I’ve seen him so many times I honestly forget, I have seen him throw down in LA a bunch, Hard Summer, CRSSD, his local shows here in SF to shows hours away from me in Sacramento and even on the legendary experience that is Holy Ship.

Every time I see him get on those decks, he kills it and I get so stoked that he still recognizes me. I love that he created Night Bass and is continuously pushing himself.

Night Bass is truly a vibe/lifestyle.

Check out AC Slater’s Hard Summer set, it’s honestly one of my favorites that I’ve seen AC Slater @ Hard Summer 2017
